I am sure you will share the heart-break of all Welsh-speakers that the internet domain suffix .cym has been awarded to the Cayman Islands.
When DotCym campaign failed to attract the donations it hoped for, it was given £20,000 of state money, on grounds that it was "a strategic approach to put Wales on the world map and enhance Welsh culture and identity on the worldwide web. Proper internet status for our nation will open up new marketing opportunities and help promote the Wales brand."
Siôn Jobbins [I'm not making this up], director of DotCym, has urged supporters to come up with a new idea for a Welsh domain.
Any suggestions?
