A mosque on Ground Zero

Pat Condell on Jihad Watch has some choice comments to make about the provocative insolence of a proposal to build a mosque near the site of the Twin Towers in New York. It's to be called Cordoba House, a reference to the estwhile grand mosque in Córdoba, which is now a Christian cathedral.

It appears the teddibly PC Manhattan Borough Council has studiously refused to acknowledge the perfectly evident Islamic revenge-triumphalism explicit in both the location and the name chosen for this "community centre".

The term "dhimmitude" was popularized by Bat Yeór (Gisèle Littman), a British scholar whose Jewish family was driven out of Egypt in 1957. She defined it as follows:
A behaviour dictated by fear of terrorism, pacifism when aggressed, rather than resistance, servility because of cowardice and vulnerability. By their peaceful surrender to the Islamic army, [dhimmis] obtained the security for their life, belongings and religion, but they had to accept a condition of inferiority, spoliation and humiliation.
