Taking offence

Douglas Murray writes eloquently about the legal empowerment of humourless arseholes in the Spectator.

It seems some shit-head of an Ireland-born Unison rep reported a fellow Medway councillor to the police and received thousands of pounds of compensation because he claimed to be offended by the following joke:
A man walked into a Dublin bar and saw a friend sitting with an empty glass. “Paddy, can I get you another?” he asked, to which Paddy replied - “now what would I be wanting with another empty glass?”
OK. From now on I am going to be legally offended by any lefty who makes disparaging remarks about:
  • Conservatives
  • Americans
  • Israelis
  • Margaret Thatcher
  • George Bush
  • Capitalism
  • Bankers
  • Consumerism
  • etc.
And I am going to be legally offended by any lefty who fails to condemn:
  • Lenin
  • Stalin
  • Mao-tse-Tung
  • Pol Pot
  • Castro
  • Guevara
  • IRA terrorism
  • Palestinian terrorism
  • The Taleban
  • The Iranian regime
  • etc.
Fuck 'em if they can't take a joke.
